TSJF seeks to support educational development through literacy programs, scholarships, and collaborating with student and community organizations to identify needs and develop programs to address education gaps in the Third Section community.
Imagine life without clean water. It is a reality for the nearly 1,000 children under 5 who die every day as a result of contaminated water, poor sanitation, and improper hygiene. For the millions of women and kids who walk from far every day to get water – keeping them from school and other productive work. A reservoir was built in the Third Section community of Jean Rabel in 1983, but due to age and erosion, the reservoir no longer is able to capture the underground spring water. TSJF’s pilot project goal is to fund the construction of a new reservoir, which will include laying new pipes, in order to capture fresh spring water for the Third Section community.
TSJF intends to help meet some of the basic health needs of the Third Section community of Jean Rabel by funding missions that will provide direct health services such as health screens and preventive health clinics, and working with the community to build capacity to address these needs on their own.
TSJF will collaborate with the Third Section community to discern the best ways to fuel economic development at the local level through vocational and technical training programs and projects.
